This is one of those problems where it's the tendon giving you the trouble. Tendons like to shorten up when they are in places of trauma or perceived trauma and the way you are holding your hand and moving your fingers is where they see the trauma in this situation. Once you get the tendon released it will no longer see it that way. Here is how to release it:
With your finger half closed take your other thumb and place it at the lower knuckle of the finger right next to the hand. Press in with a moderate pressure and hold. Relax. After 30 seconds slowly straighten your fingers out until fully extended, release the pressure but hold your finger extended like that for another 30 seconds. Move up to the bottom of the next knuckle and repeat the process. You can also move into your hand right behind the finger and do the same by placing your thumb on your main crease running across your hand.
